Liverpool John Lennon Airport has a single terminal, and most of its food, drink and shopping is after security, in a departure lounge spread over two floors. Before security there is coffee, Greggs and a newsagent, so if you want a proper meal or a drink, go through first. This page lists what is on each side of security and roughly where to find it.
Checked against Liverpool John Lennon Airport's own listings in October 2026; outlets change, so check the airport's site for opening hours.

Before security
The landside part of the terminal is small, with everything on the ground floor between the check-in hall and arrivals.
- Starbucks: next to the check-in hall, opposite the assistance desk, for coffee, tea, sandwiches and pastries.
- Greggs: halfway between check-in and arrivals, next to Starbucks, with hot and cold food to take away and some seating.
- WHSmith: at the far end of the terminal next to arrivals and the taxi rank, for newspapers, snacks, drinks and travel-size toiletries.
- Travelex: two desks, one opposite the check-in desks and one in the arrivals area.
After security: the upper level
Security brings you out on the upper level, and you walk through World Duty Free to reach the rest of the departure lounge. It sells fragrance, beauty, drinks and confectionery, and you can reserve products online up to 24 hours before you fly and pay when you collect them in the shop.
- Sable & Co Bar & Kitchen: the main sit-down restaurant, on the left just after World Duty Free, with views of the runway. It serves breakfast (brioche, eggs benedict) and an all-day menu of sharing boards, burgers and cocktails, using produce from local suppliers, and has a children's menu. You can order at the bar or by scanning a QR code at your table.
- WHSmith: the first unit on the right after security, for books, magazines, snacks and drinks for the flight.
- Travelex: the first unit on the left after security, where you collect travel money ordered online, or buy on the day.
- With Love From Liverpool: next to Travelex, selling Merseyside-themed gifts and souvenirs.
The Aspire lounge is also on the upper level. If you would rather wait there, compare it on our Liverpool Airport lounges page.
After security: the lower level
Escalators, stairs and a lift lead down to the lower level, where the gates are. Most of the food is here.
Restaurants and bars
- The Kissing Gate: a pub with classic British food, burgers and nachos, a breakfast menu for early flights and a children's menu.
- Monty's: an American-style all-day diner, straight ahead of the escalators, with burgers, fries, loaded waffles, hot dogs, wings and milkshakes, plus breakfast and children's menus. You can order at your table or by QR code.
- Tap & Brew: a bar next to Starbucks, with draught and canned beer from Glen Affric Brewery in Birkenhead, Liverpool Gin, cocktails and wine, plus bar snacks.
Quicker food and coffee
- Burger King: opposite gates 1 and 2, ordered from touch screens, with a children's menu.
- Upper Crust: baguettes, baked goods and drinks to eat in departures or take on board, directly below World Duty Free.
- Starbucks: the airside branch, opposite Upper Crust.
- SOHO Coffee: coffee, matcha, jacket potatoes, salads and breakfast rolls, below the Aspire lounge.
Shops
- JD: sportswear and trainers for men, women and children, at tax-free prices, opposite The Kissing Gate's seating.
- WHSmith: a second airside branch at the bottom of the stairs, next to JD.
Timing it
The airport's terminal map suggests allowing 10 to 15 minutes to walk to any gate, with gates 1 to 10 at one end of the lower level and 11 to 17 at the other. A sit-down meal at Sable & Co, The Kissing Gate or Monty's needs more time than a coffee from SOHO or a baguette from Upper Crust, so if you are short on time, pick something near your gate once it is shown.
Getting to the airport is covered on our directions to Liverpool Airport page, and you can compare Liverpool Airport parking for your dates.
