Gatwick's two terminals each have their own run of restaurants, bars and shops, and you can only use the ones in the terminal you fly from. Most of the choice is after security, in the departure lounges, but both terminals have somewhere to eat and drink before security too. This page lists what is in the North Terminal and the South Terminal, before and after security, so you can plan where to eat and how much time to leave.
Checked against Gatwick Airport's own listings in October 2026; outlets change, so check the airport's site for opening hours.

Tips for eating and shopping at Gatwick
- Evening flight? Check closing times. Most shops after security close at 19:00, and many restaurants at around 20:00. A few stay open until the last flight: The Red Lion, The Breakfast Club and Juniper & Co in the North Terminal, and The Flying Horse, Big Smoke and GAIL's in the South Terminal. World Duty Free in both terminals also stays open until the last flight.
- Early flight? Shops after security open at 04:00 in the North Terminal and 05:00 in the South Terminal. Most restaurants open at 04:00, and some at 03:00 or 03:30.
- Reserve duty free ahead. World Duty Free's Reserve & Collect service lets you choose items online and collect them at the airport, and Gatwick advertises 10% off when you order in advance.
- Want somewhere quieter? A lounge includes food and drink in the entry price, and each terminal has its own. See Gatwick Airport lounges.
