Edinburgh Airport has one terminal, so every lounge is open to you whichever airline you fly with, as long as you can get to your gate in time. Right now there are three lounges you can pay to use: the Escape Lounge by gate 4, and two upstairs near gate 16, the Turkish Airlines Lounge and the Aspire Lounge. The Aspire Lounge stops taking bookings after 6 November 2026, so for later trips the choice is Escape or Turkish Airlines. This page sets out where each one is, what is included, the rules on children and how long you can stay. If you are not sure a lounge is worth paying for, our guide on whether an airport lounge is worth it will help you decide.
Escape Lounge
- Where: airside on the lower level, next to gate 4 and the British Airways lounge. It opened in June 2025 in the space that used to be the Aspire Lounge at gate 4.
- Included: a hot and cold buffet from a chef-designed menu, with gluten-free and vegan options, plus tea, coffee, soft drinks, wine, beer and spirits. Premium drinks cost extra. There is fast private Wi-Fi, charging points and printing.
- Children: welcome. Under-3s go free and do not need a booking, children's prices cover ages 3 to 15, and adult prices start at 16. Clothing must suit a family-friendly lounge, so no fancy dress or matching stag and hen outfits.
- Timing: you can go in up to three hours before your flight, depending on your airline's check-in times. It opens at 4am every day; from 25 October 2026 it closes between 8.30pm and 10pm depending on the day.
- Suits: families, and anyone flying from the gates at the lower end of the terminal. You can also turn up and pay at the door if there is space, by card only.
Turkish Airlines Lounge
- Where: airside, upstairs. After security and passport control, head towards gate 16 and take the stairs or lift up a floor.
- Included: hot and cold food, all of it halal-certified, with Turkish, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes, Turkish tea and coffee, and complimentary beer, wine and standard spirits. Premium drinks cost extra. There are runway views, a premium seating area, a prayer room and a nursing room. There are no showers.
- Children: under-2s go free. Some booking sites charge children aged 2 and over the adult rate, so check child prices before you book.
- Timing: open from 4am to 10pm daily. Paid passes are sold by length of stay, usually three hours; Priority Pass visits are limited to two hours.
- Suits: anyone who wants a proper meal or a halal menu, and passengers flying from the gates at the far end of the terminal. Run by Plaza Premium Group, it opened in December 2025 and is open to passengers of any airline, not only Turkish Airlines.
Aspire Lounge (gate 16)
- Where: airside on the upper floor, above Pret. After security and duty free, turn right and follow the signs for gate 16.
- Included: a hot breakfast and other meals, barista-style coffee and a bar serving complimentary alcoholic and soft drinks, with Wi-Fi, charging points, work areas and toilets. On a clear day you can see the Forth bridges.
- Children: admitted, with family booth areas, and under-2s go free.
- Timing: stays of up to three hours. It closes at 8pm, or 7pm on Saturdays.
- Suits: trips up to 6 November 2026 only. Aspire says the lounge will not take bookings after that date, and other lounge listings show it closing permanently on 7 November. Do not book it for a later flight.
British Airways has its own lounge by gate 4, but it is for eligible British Airways passengers and cannot be bought.
Which one for you
- Families: the Escape Lounge, which has clear child prices and lets under-3s in free.
- A proper meal, or a halal menu: the Turkish Airlines Lounge.
- A flight from the gates near gate 16: the Turkish Airlines Lounge, which is close by and upstairs.
- Turning up without a booking: any of them may let you in if there is space, but at busy times only a booking is safe.
- Travelling before 6 November 2026: the Aspire Lounge is still an option, and is a good fit if you want runway and bridge views.
Whichever you pick, a booking is valid for the date, time and lounge you choose, and Edinburgh Airport applies a smart casual dress code. Compare prices and book on our Edinburgh Airport lounges page. For parking, drop-off and how early to arrive, see our guide to flying from Edinburgh Airport.
